ModCloth Uniquely You Campaign by theglittervixen featuring a vintage two piece
Last week, ModCloth emailed me to see if I'd be interested in their Uniquely You Campaign. Because I'm always interested in keeping the content on this blog fresh and differing from the rather obsessive schedule I set myself, I decided to say yes and get involved. I was further encouraged when they sent the image of this swimsuit for me to base my storyboard around - it's gorgeous! I love high waisted bikinis, and this polka dot print gives this particular one a nice retro feel.
With monochrome being a big trend pretty much all year round, I decided I'd stick to that theme with the accessories I added. First up: a cover up! I don't go to the beach all that often any more (maybe because I don't live by the seaside anymore and the UK is COLD!) but when I do, I need a cover up! A nice floaty dress often does the trick and I chose this particular ModCloth one because the halterneck is very different from something I'd usually wear.
Next: shoes! While in reality, wedges are probably not the best beach wear I've ever come across, it was the first style of shoe to pop into my head when I was trying to decide what accessories to add. Initially I thought adding a colour pop to my outfit would be cool but when I saw this amazing stripy pair, I realised I was going to go for monochrome clashing prints instead. That's where this incredible Betsey Johnson bag comes into the picture too.
Finally, a hat is essential. Never underestimate a good sun hat. I've been wanting one in this style for ages - although I'd prefer a plain black one if I were going to splurge any time soon. However this straw number looks like it'd go down like a treat with outfit.
What do you think?
