A while back, I decided that I wanted to start describing my own personal style as “Modern Day Marie Antoinette.” I had intended to fill my wardrobe with ruffles, lace, embellishment, gorgeous hair pieces and pastel colours in a nod to one of my favourite historical figures. Unfortunately, I never really got round to completing my Marie Antoinette-inspired wardrobe, but a few pieces do stick around, and the Lipsy blouse featured in today’s post is one of them.
The above is one of my favourite work outfits, although I'm reluctant to call it a "work outfit" alone as it's very, very likely I would happily wear this outfit outside of work too. The blouse has fast cemented itself as a favourite in my wardrobe, although I do tend to reserve this skirt more for work purposes - perhaps, outside of work, I am much more likely to pair this blouse with my velvet skater skirt. On this occasion though, it was a work outfit.
Accessorising to go with this outfit was pretty easy. As the top is quite detailed, it requires very little effort. The little bow on my silver heart earrings is pretty much the same shade as the blouse so I think they work wonderfully together, I always wear my FitBit these days anyway and I quite like having a wrist full of bracelets so I put my plain black Primark beads on for the occasion.
As for makeup, one of my favourite looks at the moment is the one shown in this post (dedicated FOTD post coming soon!) and it just so happens that Maybelline's cream eyeshadow in Pink Gold goes perfectly with the blouse and earrings, so it was a no-brainer.
This is pretty much my standard workwear outfit, the black skirt, the black blazer, black tights and my beloved Boohoo boots which I WEAR TO DEATH (I don't normally wear heels but being sat behind a desk at work means I can get away with it!!). I just tend to switch to different shirts and blouses and accessories to shake things up.
What's your workwear uniform look like? Do you work in an office like me or do you have a lot less choice clothing wise?
