What I Watched In September

Surprisingly, I've been watching films recently. Generally, I only watch films if I'm with someone else or going to the cinema, I do not seek them out as something to do in my free time. However, with the Halloween season approaching, I tend to want to watch some spooky-themed films and I am also reluctant to get sucked into binge watching TV at the moment as I am trying to be a bit more productive than I have been the past few months. So, here's what I've been allowing on my screen recently.

What I Read In September

Way back in January, I set myself a rather ambitious target: I wanted to read 52 books this year, an average of one a week. For the first few months of the year, I actually managed to get ahead of my target and I felt like for the first time in a long time, I might actually do one of my new year's resolutions. Alas, I wasted most of July reading one terrible book - I'd started it, so I felt like I had to finish it, but it was slow going because it was highly unenjoyable.

The Vixen Thinks: Employment Is Not Equal To Slavery

In 2013, I was introduced to the world of network marketing. Three years on, I am not only surrounded by people from the network marketing company I myself got involved with, but people who have taken up different ventures such as Juice Plus or It Works. As a result of this, there is a certain sentiment that I am exposed to a lot:

"You're a slave to your boss"
"People who work traditional jobs are essentially in modern day slavery"
"People who work for themselves are free, people who don't aren't"

And so on.

But personally, I think this idea needs to STOP.

Making Difficult Financial Decisions

I make no secret of the fact that I am notoriously "bad with money." However, I'm not so sure this is entirely true - theoretically, I know how to be good with money. I am fully aware of how to create a budget, I've got loads of little money saving tips and tricks up my sleeve and I don't have loan sharks chasing after me.

What I Wore: September Wedding Guest

In September, I had the absolute pleasure of attending my stepbrother's wedding. While the dress code of this particular wedding was simply "come dressed for a party", there is nothing I love more than an excuse to wear dresses that are a lot more extravagant than the ones I wear to the office, and what better opportunity than a wedding to wear something really special?
