As promised, here is my first 2017 OOTD that doesn't feature my beloved bomber jacket. It does however, feature my frequently worn grey New Look boots and the fur coat I mentioned in this outfit post. I guess I'm just happy to have a pair of heels that are relatively comfy!

Shortly after Christmas, I wandered into town to browse the sales. It had been ever such a long time since I had treated myself to some new clothes and I wanted to see if there was anything special in the sales. Although I had a very chilled NYE planned, I was still on the hunt for something sparkly to wear to bring the New Year in - I like to start my years as I mean to go on. When I came across this silver, sparkly midi skirt in Debenhams, I knew I had found what I was looking for.

I like this skirt so much that after wearing it during the evening on New Year's Eve, I wanted to carry on wearing it on New Year's Day. I only had a trip to visit my dad, stepmum and siblings planned so I wanted a way to tone it down a little - the low cut top I'd had on the night before wasn't quite right for a family day! I decided my black "velvet" turtleneck from Primark was the solution - the sister to the top worn in this post. It's comfy, it's plain without being boring and made this super pretty skirt just a little bit more appropriate for the daytime.

By the time I took these photos, the temperature had dropped and it was finally appropriate to start wearing the most recent addition to my coat collection: this faux fur number from Boohoo. It looks gorgeous and it really is so cosy but unfortunately I don't think it was good value for money at all. For a start, it arrived and I realised it had no fastenings on it! Not ideal for a coat you bought to keep you warm. The sleeves also split within a few days of owning the coat and the lining in the pockets also ripped. My wonderful mum has since added some hook and eye fastenings to the coat which has greatly improved its usefulness but sadly, the repairs she made to the sleeves and lining didn't last long! At the least now it fastens I've managed to get a lot of wear out of the coat.

Do you have any pretty, sparkly items of clothing that you find yourself determined to wear during the day as well?
