Today I'm sharing the outfit I wore when I visited Wentworth Castle. Of course, it would have made sense to take my outfit photos in the idyllic scenes of the gardens there, but clearly, I am out of practice when it comes to this blogging thing and I took my photos elsewhere. Ah well, I may not be surrounded by exotic plants but you still get a pretty good idea of what my outfit looked like!
Hat: Matalan (maybe, I've had it years)
Leather Jacket: Zara
Boots: New Look
This simple grey pinafore from ASOS was one of many pinafores within that particular order. Unfortunately I ended up sending the rest back because they just didn't work for me. It was strange, because of all the ones I ordered, I actually expected the grey one to be the one I liked least. Instead, it has become one of my wardrobe staples. Because it goes with so many of the tops that I own, it's really quite a versatile piece. Occasionally I wish I'd gone for a black one, but I think grey is a really underrated neutral and it's nice to take a break from black every now and again.
On this particular day, I opted to pair my pinafore with a white Primark blouse with a cute little black bow detail. A good blouse is such a timeless piece and tying a little bow underneath the collar with a piece of ribbon or something similar gives it that something extra - it's a look I really love. To match the grey of the pinafore, I of course opted for my grey New Look boots and this grey beret with a black bow that I've had for years.
Although all the pieces in this outfit were bought completely separately without the others in mind, it's amazing how well they've come together - I personally think this outfit looks like it was very much planned when it was actually a happy accident when I was getting ready for work one day! While it's still a bit nippy out, my leather jacket is the perfect finishing touch, giving what is otherwise a very girlie outfit a bit of an edge.
Are you into the pinafore trend?
