Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation [Product Review]

My quest for the perfect foundation continues. After deciding to move on from the Revlon foundation I tried, my next choice was the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. I was drawn to this because in Boots, the Bourjois stand had descriptions next to all the different foundations explaining what kind of coverage each one offered. This particular foundation was said to give medium, buildable coverage and after experimenting on my hand, I decided to give it a go.

If I'm not mistaken, I'd read a few rave reviews of this foundation when it first came out so I was hoping for some good things. As expected, this foundation is medium coverage but you can easily add a second layer to build it up to full, which is what I preferred to do. Applied with a brush and buffed in with a beauty blender, I was quite impressed with the effect this foundation had on my skin. As you can see in the photo above, my skin looks quite good - you can still see a few spots on my chin, but the foundation successfully hides my very red cheeks and the redness of my blemishes, and my skin tone looks nice and even.

Unfortunately, like most foundations I've tried, after a few hours, this foundation would start to slide off my face, particularly on my chin and my forehead. It would look patchy and horrible and I'd be stuck at work wishing I'd just not applied any makeup to begin with.

This won't be one I repurchase, but if you've got pretty good skin, not too dry, not too oily, I think the lasting power would be much better for you. As I said, on the initial application, this foundation looks really nice but my combination skin makes it very difficult for any foundation to last well on my face.

Have you ever tried this foundation? What did you think?
