Besides the never-ending quest to find the perfect foundation, I'm also after the perfect primer. Not only do I require a primer to smooth over the surface of my skin (acne scarring), I also want my primer to help my foundation STAY PUT. I used to like Benefit Porefessional, but it's expensive and I don't really want to support a brand that uses the idea that wearing glasses is ugly in their marketing campaigns.

After examining a fair few testers in Boots, I came across NYX Pore Filler and decided to give it a whirl.

After squirting a little tester onto my hand in Boots, NYX Pore Filler seemed quite similar to Benefit Porefessional in texture and colour, but it was a lot cheaper. Unfortunately, when I got it home, I noticed something I didn't notice in the tester. The product has a weird, almost crumbly consistency to it and when you squirt it out of the bottle, it sometimes spits out violently and ends up on the floor, or you end up with too much or too little. The tube also seemed to run out really quickly, but upon cutting the tube open, I realised that actually, most of the product was left and it's strange consistency meant it had blocked itself up. To get around this, I ended up having to decant it into a little pot, as shown below.

So, ever so annoying consitency aside, how does this product actually perform? I've bought two tubes of it so it can't be that bad! I rarely ever repurchase foundation or primer. You don't need a lot of product to cover your whole face and it gives a very smooth, silky texture to your face. Unfortunately it doesn't really seem to enhance the wear time of my foundation, but it certainly helped with a nice, smooth, even application.

After cutting open two tubes, I've decided not to repurchase again. It's just too fiddly and whilst it makes foundation application a dream, what I really want is a primer that helps my foundation last the entire work day.

Any recommendations?!
